Lupe experienced a new kind of Dingo Vacation in June of 2014. She got to stay at a beautiful family cabin on Kabekona Lake in north central Minnesota, where Lupe was warmly welcomed by her great Uncle John and great Aunt Joyce. Their old cat, Laddie, was less enthusiastic about having a lively Carolina Dog around, but soon got used to the idea that he wasn’t actually in imminent danger of becoming a Dingo treat.
Lupe enthusiastically endorsed the cabin’s super comfy loft as her personal abode. The living room couch near the fireplace was a pretty attractive alternative place to hang out, too. It seems Carolina Dogs don’t always have to be out there roughing it on their Dingo Vacations, they are perfectly capable of adjusting graciously to luxury living when it’s forced upon them!
Heading out to sea in a rowboat with a 10 HP motor, however, took a bit more getting used to. It seemed a bit alarming at first, but Lupe soon got used to it. She got lots of boat rides on Kabekona Lake, and even sailed down the channel to Bucket and Little Bucket Lakes, too. Lupe enjoyed lots of beautiful evenings on Kabekona Lake watching colorful sunsets.
Even more importantly, the North woods outside Lupe’s loft window were full of squirrels! Kabekona Lake turned out to be a pretty exciting Dingo Paradise!
