(9-9-23)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Days 49 &amp; 50 of Lupe&#8217;s 2nd Summer of 2023 Dingo Vacation to Canada &amp; Alaska!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>9-9-23, the wee hours, <strong>Pass <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">5050<\/span><\/strong><\/em> &#8211; Great gusts of wind swept over the tiny house, separated by brief moments of calm.\u00a0 In the darkness, snug in a sleeping bag, SPHP no longer heard the steady rain that had fallen for hours.\u00a0 Lupe was dead tired, and had scarcely moved.<\/p>\n<p>SPHP jostled the Carolina Dog.<\/p>\n<p><em>Loopster, wake up!\u00a0 It quit raining.\u00a0 Want to go out and sniff the air?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She did.\u00a0 In the weak beam of the little flashlight, SPHP watched her now and then as Lupe sniffed here and there out on the wet tundra.<\/p>\n<p>The night was black as sin.\u00a0 No stars.\u00a0 Must still be cloudy.\u00a0 Chilly, but the wind wasn&#8217;t as bad as it had sounded from within the tiny house.\u00a0 Even so, a few minutes of the brisk, gusty breeze was enough.<\/p>\n<p><em>Guess I&#8217;m ready to go back in, Looper.\u00a0 C&#8217;mon!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Strolling back to the tiny house, SPHP suddenly realized that Lupe hadn&#8217;t reappeared from out of the shadows.<\/p>\n<p><em>Loop, come!\u00a0 &#8230;\u00a0 LOOOOP!\u00a0 Where are you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No response.\u00a0 SPHP shone the flashlight all around.\u00a0 Nothing!<\/p>\n<p>Walking in a widening circle around the tiny house, SPHP kept calling and shining the flashlight everywhere.\u00a0 Where could she have gone?\u00a0 Wandered off alone and now lost in the Yukon?\u00a0 The mere thought was horrible!\u00a0 Anxiety rising, SPHP screamed into the wind.<\/p>\n<p><em>LOOOOP! &#8230; LUUUUPPEEEE! &#8230; COME BACK!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>From the invisible mountains, an echo.\u00a0 No more.<\/p>\n<p><em>Luuuuppeee! &#8230; Come back!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bleary-eyed, Lupe reemerged from the tiny house.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cut it out, SPHP!\u00a0 You&#8217;re enough to wake the dead!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She&#8217;d already snuck back in.<\/p>\n<p><em>9-9-23, 7:20 AM, <strong>Pass <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">5050<\/span><\/strong><\/em> &#8211; Dawn came creeping slowly over the land.\u00a0 Over by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=134555\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Mount Mye<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(6,763 ft.)<\/span><\/strong>, 2 small clouds floated, edged with gold.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62920\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62920\" style=\"width: 1651px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_2886-scaled.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-62920\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_2886-scaled.jpg?resize=660%2C495&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_2886-scaled.jpg?w=1651&amp;ssl=1 1651w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_2886-scaled.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/IMG_2886-scaled.jpg?w=1320&amp;ssl=1 1320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62920\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dawn at <strong>Pass 5050<\/strong>. <strong>Mount Mye<\/strong> (L of Center).
