Photo looks NNE.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>Oh, I get it!\u00a0 This looks familiar, SPHP.\u00a0 We&#8217;re taking our alternate route to New Year&#8217;s Eve Peak, aren&#8217;t we?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>That&#8217;s right, Loop!\u00a0 Been wanting to hit <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Peak <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=88640\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">6070<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/strong> again for years, but the days are so short in December and January, that we don&#8217;t make it that far when we&#8217;ve gone over <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Peak<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=67517\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">5800<\/span><\/a><\/strong> first starting from USFS Road No. 710.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We&#8217;ll get to see something a little different then this year, SPHP.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Yup!\u00a0 In fact, part of today&#8217;s route to Peak 6070 will be up a valley we&#8217;ve never explored before, Looper.\u00a0 Should be fun!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sticking with No. 257 as it crossed the field, Lupe soon reached a short stretch of tall pines.\u00a0 By the time she emerged from the trees, the road had turned NW, now heading up a wide, gentle valley.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t much farther to a junction.<\/p>\n<p><em>Which way, SPHP?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>No. 257 turns N here, which is the most direct route to New Year&#8217;s Eve Peak.\u00a0 That&#8217;s the way we&#8217;ve gone starting from Horse Creek Road before, Loop.\u00a0 Today, though, let&#8217;s keep going NW on No. 257.1A.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_49701\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49701\" style=\"width: 1651px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_3471-scaled.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-49701\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_3471-scaled.jpg?resize=660%2C495\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_3471-scaled.jpg?w=1651&amp;ssl=1 1651w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_3471-scaled.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/IMG_3471-scaled.jpg?w=1320&amp;ssl=1 1320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-49701\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Past the first pines <strong>No. 257<\/strong> went through, heading up the wide valley.
