Peak 6170, is it?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Not at all, SPHP, although there were moments on the way up that rocky ridge, followed by the easy ramp, that seemed similar.\u00a0 Nothing to Atlantic Hill in the end, though.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Well, at least we made it to the top of something today, Loop.\u00a0 Can add this ascent to our list of things to be thankful for.\u00a0 Not to mention that I&#8217;ve got another chocolate coconut bar to split between us, too.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A cool breeze blew out of the NW as Lupe and SPHP took a break near the true summit.\u00a0 Did seem like a long time since the American Dingo was last here.<\/p>\n<p>Atlantic Hill&#8217;s summit region was similar to SPHP&#8217;s vague recollections of it.\u00a0 Most of it slanted gently S, where several more rock formations were strung out along the E edge.\u00a0 A line of smaller outcroppings ran along the W edge, too.\u00a0 Between E and W was a 50 foot wide, mostly grassy area with scattered trees and deadfall.\u00a0 NW of the true summit was a smaller, flatter area with less deadfall and more trees.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_42210\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42210\" style=\"width: region.\u00a0 Highlights included views of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=60392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Saint Elmo Peak<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(6,458 ft.)<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=6237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Sylvan Hill<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0(7,000 ft.)<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=19816\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Thunderhead Mountain<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(6,567 ft.)<\/span><\/strong> (aka <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackhillsbadlands.com\/parks-monuments\/crazy-horse-memorial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Crazy Horse<\/strong><\/span><\/a>) toward the NE, and a considerably lower forested region to the S.<\/p>\n<p>The best view, though, was of <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Peak<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/listsofjohn.com\/peak\/96479\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">6380<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>We&#8217;ve never been to Peak 6380, have we, SPHP?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Nope.\u00a0 There&#8217;s a reason for that.\u00a0 See how rocky its summit is, Loop?\u00a0 Looks a lot less feasible than Peak 6170 did.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We could still conduct an investigation, SPHP.\u00a0 There might be a way up!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Maybe someday, Looper.\u00a0 Has all the leading indicators of of another fail, though, so it&#8217;s not a
