{"id":31893,"date":"2021-05-09T08:10:02","date_gmt":"2021-05-09T14:10:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adventuresoflupe.com\/?p=31893"},"modified":"2021-10-09T12:03:03","modified_gmt":"2021-10-09T18:03:03","slug":"mile-high-hill-in-the-rochelle-hills-wyoming-10-16-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adventuresoflupe.com\/?p=31893","title":{"rendered":"Mile High Hill in the Rochelle Hills, Wyoming (10-16-20)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>7:42 AM, 20\u00baF, Black Hills, USFS Road No. 282 just N of Hwy 16, W of Jewel Cave National Monument &#8211; <\/em>A bank of fog filled the valley beyond the hill Lupe now stood on, paws in an inch of new snow that must have fallen overnight.\u00a0 It had been 37\u00baF when the G6 pulled out of the driveway this morning, with a high in the 50&#8217;s expected.\u00a0 So much for that.\u00a0 20\u00baF here!<\/p>\n<p>SPHP hadn&#8217;t bothered to check the forecast for anywhere else.\u00a0 After passing Crazy Horse, everything had changed on the way into Custer.\u00a0 Snow on the ground, and the temperature plunged as SPHP drove into a dense fog.\u00a0 Stayed that way W of Custer, but this hill was a high point.\u00a0 High enough to be above the fog.<\/p>\n<p><em>I don&#8217;t know, Loopster!\u00a0 Had no idea it was going to be like this.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We&#8217;re going to keep going aren&#8217;t we, SPHP?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I suppose.\u00a0 Newcastle isn&#8217;t that much farther.\u00a0 Guess we can go see how things are down on the plains, but if it&#8217;s all socked in, or any colder than this, that&#8217;ll be it.\u00a0 No sense in doing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=43759\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Mile High Hill<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(5,280 ft.)<\/span><\/strong> in the fog!
