Took long enough, but Lupe’s Summer of 2020 is underway!\u00a0 A 7 month peakbagging drought due to SPHP’s winter illness, and subsequent months long project selling Grandma’s house this spring, ended with a Dingo Vacation to the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming in late June.<\/p>\n

Turned out the Carolina Dog did remember how to climb a mountain or two!\u00a0 Loopster scored some nice initial successes.<\/p>\n

The luck of the Dingo ran out, though, when rain and fog swept in.\u00a0 With company expected back home over the 4th of July weekend anyway, Loop was soon beating a retreat back to the Black Hills of South Dakota.<\/p>\n

As it turned out, the early return meant an opportunity to meet with Dave Covill<\/strong><\/span><\/a> again and his granddaughter, Eden.\u00a0 They happened to be passing through the area after visiting White Butte<\/span><\/a> (3,506 ft.)<\/span><\/strong>, the high point of North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Eden had bagged Black Elk Peak<\/span><\/a> (7,231 ft.)<\/span><\/strong>, South Dakota’s high point, the day before.\u00a0 At 7 years old, she was already up to 6 state high points completed, with a visit to Panorama Point<\/span><\/a> (5,426 ft.)<\/span><\/strong>, the high point of Nebraska, scheduled for the next day.<\/p>\n

On July 3rd, cousin Dusty and Uncle Joe arrived from Colorado.\u00a0 A dip in Rapid Creek seemed the perfect solution to a blazing hot afternoon.<\/p>\n

With the holiday over, and friends and company gone, it’s going to be crickets and cobwebs here at The (Mostly) True Adventures of Lupe as far as new posts go for a while.<\/p>\n

The American Dingo is once again off and running!\u00a0 More action-packed Summer of 2020 Dingo Vacations are ahead, but Lupe promises to return in the fall with new tales of her latest and greatest adventures in social distancing.<\/p>\n
