Photo looks N.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>Early on the Denali Highway after crossing the Maclaren River<\/em> &#8211; Ai-yi-yi!\u00a0 The Carolina Dog was having a conniption fit!\u00a0 Directly ahead, 3 caribou trotted away right in front of the G6, steadfastly refusing to leave the road.\u00a0 What was wrong with these caribou, anyway?\u00a0 Were they deaf?<\/p>\n<p>The excitement was more than a Dingo could bear!\u00a0 For a tortuously slow mile, complete pandemonium reigned in the G6.\u00a0 By the time the caribou finally had sense enough to abandon the highway for the bush, Lupe was a complete foaming-at-the-mouth frazzle.<\/p>\n<p><em>Nothing like a little excitement to start the day, aye, Looper?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For pity sake, SPHP!\u00a0 Why didn&#8217;t you gun it, and run over those caribou?\u00a0 So easy!\u00a0 We would have been up to our necks in caribou steaks the rest of this Dingo Vacation!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>No hunting license, Loop.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>You didn&#8217;t need one!\u00a0 You&#8217;ve got a driver&#8217;s license, right?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Of course.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Well, then use it!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No amount of explaining was going to make any difference, so SPHP changed the subject.<\/p>\n<p><em>Maclaren Summit is just ahead.\u00a0 As soon as we get there, Whistle Ridge will be right around the corner.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Oh, are we going to explore Whistle Ridge, SPHP?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Yup.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a little different from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=-82974\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Crazy Notch Ridge<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(4233 ft.)<\/span><\/strong> yesterday.\u00a0 Two separate summits, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Peak<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=72732\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4716<\/span><\/a><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Peak<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/peakbagger.com\/peak.aspx?pid=83248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4850<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, 4 or 5 miles apart.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Are we peakbagging Peak 4850 then, since it&#8217;s the highest?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Both actually, since they are real close to the highway.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll come to Peak 4716 first.\u00a0 After that, we&#8217;ll just drive to Peak 4850.\u00a0 Easier than trying to travel the entire ridge and back.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>9:44 AM, 45\u00baF, pullout on the N side of the Denali Highway at MP 35.2<\/em> &#8211;\u00a0 Looked simple enough.\u00a0 The N face of Peak 4716 was directly across the highway from where the G6 was parked.\u00a0 A moderately steep slope led up to an unseen summit some 650+ feet higher.\u00a0 Cake!\u00a0 Lupe crossed the highway, scrambled up an embankment, and was on her way.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26704\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26704\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-26704\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_5053-1024x768.jpg?resize=660%2C495\" alt=\"\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_5053.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_5053.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_5053.jpg?resize=768%2C576&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_5053.jpg?w=1651&amp;ssl=1 1651w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/adventuresoflupe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/IMG_5053.jpg?w=1320&amp;ssl=1 1320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26704\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The <strong>N face of Peak 4716<\/strong> from the Denali Highway pullout at MP 35.2.
